Arrow STV Import: Dead Pixel Test

To assist in visually inspecting a LCD TV for dead or frozen pixels, it is helpful to flood the screen with solid colors to help identify certain defect pixels. In the past I have always connected a laptop and used the free "Dead Pixel Buddy" utility program; however, I thought this functionality would be useful directly embedded in my SageTV. So, here is a STVi import that creates a "Dead Pixel Test" menu item in the main Setup menu for the Default STV.

This import allows the user to flood the screen with the following colors: Black, White, Red, Green,Blue and Yellow.

- Default STV -

- SageMC -

After selecting a color, the entire screen will be flooded with the selected color. To exit this screen, select the BACK button on the remote. (or CTRL + Left Arrow on a PC keyboard)

Please note, if you are using nielm's dynamic menu STVi, then you will need to manually create a new menu item that links to a "New Internal Screen" named: "PixelTest"

SageMC Users:
To add the PixelTest pages to your menu, you can use the Nielm dynamic menu and manually create a new menu item that links to a "New Internal Screen" named: "PixelTest" or you can add the following properties to your Sage.properties or SageClient.properties file to get this import to show up under the "My Plugins" page.

Code:
sagemc/plugins/DeadPixelTest/Title=Dead Pixel Test
sagemc/plugins/DeadPixelTest/Author=shadeBlue.com
sagemc/plugins/DeadPixelTest/Menu=PixelTest
