I just found this great utility. I was having trouble with my WHS machine either stopping Sage service on its own or causing some lock up w/ Sage and my HD PVR causing it to not tune which caused me to miss shows. I would have to login to WHS, restart the service and then goto the basement and reboot my HD200 for CQC to connect to it.

Now that I have this plus another post showing how to stop and restart the service through a batch file, I now have CQC run the service batch file first then pause and then reboot the HD200 every day at 5am. So far so good, no lockups w/ HD PVR although it's only been since Sunday.

I haven't diagnosed the cause of my problem, but this band aid is working.

Is there an update to this for the HD300? It doesn't seem to work for turning it on or off.

I am using win 7 64 bit and I am not sure what I should see happen. I am running the command as a batch file and have modified the ip to my server machine ip. I have downloaded the exe file and put it into my utility folder along with the batch file. When I click on the batch file it brings up a dos window that says sage extender controller. It will not do anything to my 200 or 300. Any info on this? As I would like this app to turn on my extenders when I am working on sage
Thanks
Wayne

Attached is a screen shot of my HD200 powering on. Do you get the same results when you run your batch file?

I get the same behavior if I change the IP address to a non-existent IP address. Are you certain that you are using the correct IP address? Can you ping the extender successfully?

I thought this was a global command and I had to put the server address ip in there. I take it from your post it is the extender ip. I will have to work on this as I have all of mine on dhcp and see if that makes a difference.

Yes, it needs to be the extender ip. Best way to use this is to either assign static ip addresses to the extenders, or better yet, have your dhcp server reserve specific ip addresses for your extenders based on their unique mac address.

Are you handling the HD100 and HD200 differently? In SageTCPServer, I am basically using the mvpCommand from NielM web server, which works fine on the HD200, but not on the HD100...

When I use a direct telnet or your app to control my HD100, it works and I see:

Code:
    00000000 ff fd 18 ff fd 20 ff fd 23 ff fd 27 ..... .. #..'
00000000 ff fc 18 ...
00000003 ff fc 20 ff fc 23 ff fc 27 .. ..#.. '
    0000000C ff fb 03 ff fd 01 ff fd 1f ff fb 05 ff fd 21 ........ ......!
0000000C ff fc 01 ...
0000000F ff fc 1f ff fc 21 .....!
    0000001B ff fb 01 ...

While my code gets me:

Code:
    00000000 ff fd 18 ff fd 20 ff fd 23 ff fd 27 ..... .. #..'
00000000 72 6f 6f 74 0d 0a root..
00000006 6b 69 6c 6c 61 6c 6c 20 6d 69 6e 69 63 6c 69 65 killall miniclie
00000016 6e 74 0d 0a nt..
0000001A 65 78 69 74 0d 0a exit..
Where the lines shifted right are the incoming, while the ones starting at the beginning are the outgoing ones. So both are getting the same initial first line, but you are sending a command to switch "echo on" and maybe something else... Any ideas?
