Guide data / Favorites issue
I love SageTV, I have been using the software for a while now, and many people bought the software based on my recommendation. However, I do have 1 small issue, that is starting to get annoying and lower my WAF.
The guide data does not seem to be consistent. An example is "Big Brother 10". Sometimes it records it, sometimes it doesn't. I assume it is because sometimes the guide doesn't include '10' or some other character. I have run into this issues with 2 other shows now, both are shows my wife watches. I don't want to set up keywords, as it might force other shows I am not interested in being recorded, and makes the Favorites feature less user friendly. I never had this problem with my MCE setup, so I assume Microsoft somehow catches these errors, and fixes them, or there is an issue with the source SageTV uses? Is this something that can be fixed/looked at? Nothing sucks more than missing a good show because of this |

I think you need to use keywords.
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32850 You can restrict by channel, and it should pretty much eliminate other shows.

I agree with matt91.
You're problem seems to stem from varying show names. Using keywords, you can specify just the show name without the season number. That should record the show whether the 10 is present or not. If you further define the day, you can be sure to get the show if it plays at a special time. If you also define the channel, you'll restrict it even further. However, if you define the time and your show plays at a special time, you would miss it. So be careful how you use that one. Even with this strategy, you may get an odd show/movie with a similar name recorded. I haven't had this happen in the last 9 months, but it's certainly possible. But as to your original question about the integrity of the data in the EPG, I am assuming you are using the data provided in Sage. Since I do not use it, I can't speak from personal experience or knowledge, but I would imagine it's only as good as the provider SageTV uses. Perhaps you're right--MCE data may be more accurate. If WAF is important, an extra recording now and again shouldn't be a big problem, but certainly not recording her favorite shows IS!
