Record 2 TS streams at once.

Hi All,

Got a HDHR recently and changed the lines to false on both tuners

mmc/encoders/1062634441/100/0/encode_digital_tv_as_program_stream=false

however the 2nd tuner to start recording uses the MPG file extension. IS this normal behavior or do I need to change something else?

thanks,

Mike

What was the reason you changed that property?

See this comment.

I saw that post before I changed it. However, it seems that the files that are recorded with TS extensions seem to be more stable than the mpg files. It could be a placebo effect or a result of something else that I have not yet found.

I've rearranged signals strength today so I will see what the result of 90+ signal strength is with mpg file extensions.

Also, if the mpg contains the TS stream what it the problem with recording in a TS extension? I'm going to record the same channel (show) TS and MPG see exactly what the size and quality differences are going to be.

You're better off leaving that setting alone as the above post had referenced. But since the HDHR is a dual tuner card I would imagine there is another line in your file very similar to the mmc/encoders line but with a slightly different number.

Same line essentially except that 1 tuner is Tuner-0 and the other is Tuner-1. It's easy to distinguish which is which.

So did you change the setting for the other tuner in the properties file?
