Client Crashing
My new client PC is crashing very often. It might play an hour or two and it might play just a few minutes and crash. I suspect driver or video decoder issues. I am going to post the last few lines from the troubleshooting log file from the last crash. Does anyone see from this log what the problem could be?

I have been having a similar problem since about the time I installed SP1 for vista in the spring. No problems with XP on the same machine, it will run for months no problems. Tried a complete reinstall but same results. Changed sound cards and video cards as well.

I haven't tried going back to pre SP1 yet.

Sometimes it takes hours for it to happen, sometimes really quick.

My client PC config is,

Vista Home Premium 32 SP1
AMD 5200+
2GB DDR2
Auzentech Mystique Sound Card
Nvidia 8800GT 512MB PCI

I get the same UI hang error as you do.

Have you noticed if your memory usage is high? normally around 200-300MB for sagetv, but I have seen it up to a GB and higher so I suspect a memory leak or something... this is usually right before it crashes.

I am using Windows XP Pro SP3. I have been using this setup for several days now and the problem is still with me. The PC does not crash, it is sage that crashes, and it is when I am fast forwarding several times in a row that it will happen. Sage just locks up with the spinning circle and stays that way until I reboot Sage. It will work fine for several hours maybe all day befor it will happen again. I am using Sage version 6.4.8.184 and the latest version of JAVA.

My situation sounds identical to yours with the FF/RW as well only difference is I am using Vista. Sagetv client locks up (spinning arrow) and I have to kill it with the task manager. I have tried reinstalling Java to the latest and I have tried a clean install of 6.4.8 as well.

At one point I thought it was only during playback of HD (firewire source) but seems that the client will lock up with SD content as well.

If I have time in the next few days I'll put the log on and post that to see how it looks against yours.
