Stuttering
I am a new SageTV user. I am having problem with a certain station displaying in SageTV with sever stuttering. The sound is fine, but the picture is very jerky.
The station is an independent network. It shows old programs like "I Love Lucy", Bonanza, "Twilight Zone" etc. These are always in SD but broadcast on the digital channel. The stuttering is evident in live broadcast as well as recorded programs. It is in all programs on that channel, not just one. I get every other digital station (a total of about 12) OTA with no stuttering. I have not tried to view in OTA analog as I don't even have them in my Guide and don't want them. I can tune this station on my other TV (built-in digital tunner) and watch the same program with no stuttering so it must be a SageTV issue. I have Video Render set to VMR9. MPEG2 Video Decoder Filter - ATI MPEG Video Decoder MPEG4 Playback - SageTV Player DScaler Deinterlacing Filter - disabled Audio Renderer - default MPEG2 Audio Decoder Filter - ATI MPEG Audeo Decoder How can I stop this stuttering on only one channel? |

Are you sure it's not a signal strength issue? Does it stutter in the exact same place in the video if you rewind and watch that section again? If so, I think that would indicate a signal strength issue.
I've found that the digital tuner in my TV can better handle weaker signals than the digital tuner cards in my Sage server. Which means I just have to fine tune my antenna a little more than if I was just using the tuner in may TV. |

I am open to all suggestions.
I don't think it is a reception problem. It is a constant stutter. Kind of like watching a 1930s movie. It is constant. If you were watching a person walk accross the room, you would see them move in jerks. Not smooth like all of the other channels. |
