Win2k3 Server, HDHomerun, couple of questions

Greetings.

I am running Windows 2003 Server, and I just purchased a HDHomerun. For PVR software, I have tried TotalMedia (came with the HDHR), GB-PVR, BeyondTV, and now SageTV. The only one that I can get to work with this combo of Win2k3 and the HDHR is Sage. Support at SiliconDust seem surprised that Sage works, considering Win2k3 does not have BDA support. I'm currently running the Sage trial, and it seems to work pretty well. Is anyone else running this combination of OS, HDHR, and Sage? Are there any issues I should be aware of?

Also, on a few channels there are a couple of distorted scan lines running across the very top of the screen. (sorry if the terminology isn't right, but I hope you get my meaning.) I think this is coming in as part of the signal, since I have the same issue on my TV. Is there any way to remove them, or at least make them not visible?

Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions.

Maybe SageTV is ending up talking directly to the HDHR, like it does on a Mac or Linux system.

That's probably CC data. On a PC, check this option: Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Multimedia -> Aspect Ratio Settings. Move the picture up and/or expand it a little to shove those lines off the top of the screen.

On an HD100 extender, you would need to create a custom AR mode via the Options command on the playback screen.

Thanks. Changing the aspect ratio a bit did the trick.

I'm still curious if others are using Win2k3 Server/HDHR/Sage. I understand it's not officially supported, but if others are successfully using it, I'll consider shelling out the $$$ and buy it.

I'm running it on Windows Home Server. That's a version of Windows 2k3. But I don't watch anything on that box. It is being used as a central media server with the WHS version of Sage running on it. (Same as running SageTV as a service)

I converted to Win2k3 in June and have no issues.

I do not use for playback on the server.
I run it in service mode.
