HVR-2250 doesn't have a "QAM" tuner option

I am setting up my new sage system and have installed the HVR-2250, and when I try to set it up it is listed as a "wintv-7164 analog" and doesn't show the QAM tuners. I installed the WINTV app that came with the card, and it does see the QAM tuner and works fine, but in SageTV it sees an analog tuner, digital tuner, composite etc, but the digital tuner gets no signal, and the analog just shows a blue background.

Any thoughts or suggestions!?!?!

Select it again, and one of the options is Digital Tuner.

Also, just do a search on the term "2250" and you see lots of people telling you how to set one up.

The instruction I see says it should not show up as the 7164, but as a 771, I used the drivers that came with it. I'll keep seaerching, but if anyone has any more input that would be great as well.

On Vista it shows up as a 7164.

Showed up on XP as 7164 also. I used the latest drivers from the web.

And do you get a QAM tuner option? I get the two 'analog devices' and when I select one of those I get the Digital tuner and the Analog tuner. (as well as the composite and SVideo in), but I don't get anything from there. Digital tuner says no signal, and analog gets a blue screen and nothing more.

If anyone has a setup procedure for this I'd love to see it!

Thanks again.

See this thread:

See my post in there too. Yes, I get analog channels, and I get QAM channels, and yes I get the composite in. I did the same basic thing as the guy in the thread, but had to add a cable box too.

Thanks for the input. I looked at that article, and removed the wintv app in case that was causing any conflict. I now find that as soon as I select the digital tuner it locks up. When I reboot it tells me that "ActiveMovie window" is not responding.

I did replace the two files recommended in http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36360 as well.

Any recommendations where to go from here?

Sorry, can't help with that error. I would suggest posting OS and versions of SageTV and Hauppauge driver you are using. Mine was XP, 6.4.8.184, the 4.7 CD.

BTW, I never installed anything but the drivers. Oh, also I ran the HCW Clear program first, as I did have a old 150 and 500 in the machine.

Oh, come to think of it, I think I had the beta DShowCapture.dll and TSSplitter.ax drivers installed in the machine, as I also have a HDHomerun in the system, and those help the HDHR. Maybe that's why I had no problems installing my 2250???

See this link to get those:

Thanks, the system is a clean build of XP SP3, with the latest download version of Sage and the software from haupague v4.7.

Yep, those were the two files I updated in the last step.

Anybody got anything else?

Thanks!

So... I decided to try teh clean rebuild one more time, and it looks like it is working now.

So the question I have now is, what do I set the channel listing to? If I'm not mistaken, if I set it to FIOS it shows the channels as they come on the STB. Do I have to do these manually or something?

Thanks again!
