I'm fairly certain they are the problem. Hopefully swapping them will solve this once and for all!

So you can try either of these. There could be some additional bouquet names in use, you can look for them in DVBE4SAGE logs (maybe you need to raise the log level to 3 or 4 in order to see those). I believe this would give you some material for experimenting.

BTW, to everyone who wondered where I disappeared...
We moved to Australia 3.5 months ago. With so many changes and a completely new environment for everyone in the family, I didn't have any time to deal with DVBE4SAGE. Nowdays, we've just moved into a new house and it'll take us some time to settle in. As Foxtel is providing cable-only service in our area, there is a great incentive for me to add DVB-C and DVB-T support as well as a generic EPG dumping capability, as soon as I can start breathing again

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to force DVBE4SAGE to use a specific SID for a channel if multiple SIDs are mapped to the same "remote" channel number. The only currently available way to avoid this is to abandon "tuning by remote number" feature altogether, and this sounds like a little bit extreme for a single channel. Is the content broadcasted on your version of ITV1 so different form ITV1 London? I thought it was just about the commercials, which you'd probably like to avoid watching anyway... The situation with BBC1 and BBC2 is better, as there are regional versions of those available with 98X numbers. So, if for some reason you want your version of BBC1/2, you can just map 101/102 channel to the corresponding 98X in Sage. Unfortunately, this is not the case with ITV and Channel 4. Supporting a forced mapping of a specific SID to a channel number is not difficult, but I just don't have time for this now. Best regards, Michael.

Filter ONIDs
Is there a setting we can put in the INI file like the ServedCAIDs= and ServedProvIDs= for the ONIDs
It would be useful in NA because the providers have Eastern and Western Arcs and the same sid's on multiple satellites. Plus theres no need to discover all the services on satellites we are not interested in receiving. Thanks |

It just seems it would be more efficient if we could enter the ONIDs of interest in the ini file. Plus the fact that the channels are duplicated on many of these. So there might be a SID=5200 on multiple satellites. So something like: ServedONIDs=4099,4101,4098 |

Well, I've got rid of the crappy Digital everywhere FloppyDTV's, and installed some Technotrend S2-1600 HDTV cards. However now I can't view any encrypted HD channels. I can view BBC HD and ITV HD, and I can view encrypted SD channels like MTV, but encrypted HD channels like MTV HD come up with 'No Signal'.
Here's what I think are the important bits of the log Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Is it the seek time that needs increasing from 5 seconds perhaps? Could it be that the tuners aren't capable? I'm having a real headscratcher here Code:

Hi John,
The problem you're describing is really strange. If there had been a problem with your tuner, it wouldn't have been able to receive any HD broadcastings, but apparently it is able to receive some of them. If there had been a problem with decryption, it would have again happened with all the channels. Please, send me you DVBE4SAGE log and I'll take a look at it. Regards, Michael.

Hi Michael.
It is really weird. I thought perhaps it was the encryption card that needed updating, but as soon as I put the floppyDTV cards back in, all the channels were working. I'll attach the log in 3 parts to this post I have noticed this section of the technotrend log, which might explain something Code:
2010-10-28 16:55:42.828 #1: Catastrophic error - TS packet has wrong sync_byte, dropping the buffer... I you need any more info just let me know. Thanks John

John,
From what I see, it couldn't record any channel on a DVB-S2 transponder, both encrypted and FTA. This could probably be because TechnoTrend might be using a different modulation constant for DVB-S2 QPSK used by Sky UK with this particular card, as it is newer then previously manufactured TT-3200/3600. I can try making a change in the code to test this hypothesis when I have more time. Regards, Michael.

Hi Michael.
I can deffinateley view ITV HD and BBC HD. Both of which are free to view. But perhaps they're different in some way. I have no idea. There's a sample log from a quick view of ITV1 HD attached to this post which might help. Any help is much appreciated though. If you need me to test anything once you've had time to do some changes just let me know. Thanks again John

Well that'll certainly explain that then. I'm sure the cards are S2 capable. When I checked the spec on the technotrend website the only difference from the more expensive ones I could see was the lack of a CI connection, which obviously isn't needed.

Guys,
DVB-S2 modulations have been long neglected by Microsoft, so different vendors chose different ways of handling them. TechnoTrend chose to use 8VSB constant for both 8PSK and non-backward-compatible QPSK (NBC-QPSK), and this worked well with their TT-3200/3600 cards. I've got some users in Israel who used TT-1600 with 8PSK modulation and they also worked. However, Sky UK uses NBC-QPSK. Maybe TT started using already existing NBC-QPSK contant for it, like Hauppauge/Digital Everywhere. I'll need to make a test build to check this hypothesis out. Cheers, Michael.

Is there any quick fix to enable the fast network switch on DVBE4SAGE tuners to enable smooth program transitions? When I enable mmc/encoders/1111/fast_network_encoder_switch=true the next program starts and says no signal..

Hi Gary,
Without checking anything, as I don't have a working system yet, I would imagine that Sage extended their Network Encoder protocol to support this feature. Obviously, DVBE4SAGE needs to be extended as well to support it. I hope I'll get there when I'm finally able to assemble my systems, in a couple of weeks from now. Best regards, Michael.
