Playing back Bluray, how do you do it.
Mod if this should be in another spot please move it, was not sure where best to put this topic.
So I have been using PowerDVD8 Ultra to play back my Blu ray movies just fine until recently. Went to play "The Incredible Hulk", well PowerDVD popsup saying I need to update it. SO I did. Well after the update I go to play the movie and I get the Error 0110, which is complaining that it can not ouput on my digital interface (HDMI) because it is not HDCP. Well when I run BD Advisor I am all greens including HDCP. Hardware is a 1 year old Samsung LCD, ATI 780G based motherboard using onboard video which is HDCP compliant. Again I have not had an issue before. Now I am not sure if the problem is from the update or if it is this specfic Bluray. I do not own any Blu ray movies just use Netflix so I do not have any to test with. So I decided let me do the trial of AnyDVD, however after installing that. Even if it is not running now PowerDVD crashes anytime I try to play the movie. I was able to use AnyDVD to rip the movie (note plan to watch it once and then delete it both for ethical reasons and space). Problem I have is when I rip it it seems the Audio is only 2 channel? What do other people suggest. Note I do not plan on dropping another $100 on a product that may or may not work. Cyberlinks support is horrible! |

Hi M1,
I have had great luck with ArcSoft Total Media Theater. When I first tried it (several months ago) there was a free trial available that would play BD and HDDVD. If the free trial is still available I would give it a try. Jesse

Hmm it does not look like they offer a trial version currently . Already stuck with an expensive piece of software that does not work (POWERDVD8)! Not saying Total Media Theater does not work, heck it is probably the best out but I will not know since I am not wasting money to find out if it works or not.

Here's a place to look.
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/4117.page If this doesn't help there's a support tab at the top of the page to get help.
