I have read so many threads on this subject I am confused.
I bought the Hauppauge HD-PVR w/ the enclosed 45 button remote - I read the thread on how to get it to work (replacing the irremote.ini, etc.) - nothing - either in Sage or standard XP - nothing. I read in the forum that a few people state that the HD-PVR built-in IR Receiver doesn't work? Before I spend more time troubleshooting this, does the standard Hauppauge HD-PVR remote work with SageTV or do I need a different USB IR receiver (like USBIRT or something)? Before I spend more time troubleshooting why my Hauppage "new" 45 key remote doesn't work (the one that came with my recently purchased Hauppauge HD-PVR), do I need some other USB interface to use the remote other than the HD-PVR IR window? I read all the FAQ's about replacing the irremote.ini file, etc. but I also saw some conflicting posts in the forum indicating that the stock HD-PVR will not work with the included remote. Is this true? Do I need to get a USBIRT or something to use this remote? Should I just get some other remote? Thanks. |

A few questions for you.
Which drivers are you using for the HD-PVR? Is Ir.exe loaded? Do you use SPDIF for your audio input source? On my rev D1 HD-PVR I can use the remote if I use the analog inputs, but not SPDIF, this with the 1.1 drivers. I have yet to test the new 1.53 drivers. |

Thanks for the reply,
IR.exe is loaded - the icon is in my tray. I do use SPDIF as my audio source Using XP will all updates to date, including SP3 Using SageTV 6.4 -- I am using the "latest" driver 1.053 that was posted on the Hauppauge website. I have never got the remote to work but I have never tried to get it to work until this weekend after I updated drivers, etc. I tried the loading of debug.txt notepad file and just trying to get commands to XP, eliminating Sage and still nothing. I replaced the irremote file too. I am just trying to make sure that this solution is possible before I spend more time troubleshooting - if I need to go a different direction like USBIRT or StreamZap then I will... Thanks |

As I said, I am experiencing the same issue with the SPDIF input, niether my HD-PVR, nor my two HVR-1600 remote inputs work if I use the optical input.
If I use a MCE remote, that remote (MCE) works, but i have to go about disabling Vista MCE since it likes to pop up. I would just like to get my Hauppauge remote working since it is the one I have set up. I guess an e-mail to Hauppauge is in order. |
