Hauppauge HVR-2250 question/idea ??
Since the HVR-2250 can be either a dual analog OR dual digital tuner.. would it be or is it possible to configure SageTV so that it can use either of the tuning methods in any given situation?
What I'd like to see is if the scheduler needs an extra analog tuner for a given timeslot that it would use the 2250's analog tuner.. likewise if it could use the digital tuner... of course it would need to use the digital option first if it was a show that had a digital channel mapped to it. Is that possible, or am I stuck choosing which way I want Sage to use this tuner.. anolog OR digital and I have to live with that choice? Thanks!

From reading this thread: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34355 I got the impression it can record two shows at once in any combination analog/analog, analog/digital, digital/analog, digital/digital. But I must admit I've not set up the tuner definitions in SageMC either...

Note, setting up the HD channels is a PAIN. I was lucky in that I already had a HDHR running, and cheated buy looking at it's setup, and just selecting the HDHR channels on the 2250. Without the HDHR listing, it might take a while to find what channel is what. BTW, this is for cable. OTA is EASY!!!! About the same as SD!!! Note, it will not currently pick HD OVER SD, but try to record both if in the favorites. I remove any SD channel that I have a HD channel for so it doesn't try to record both.

Which listing, in particular, are you referring to? I do have an HDHR using QAM right now..

Now if you mapped your HD QAM to an SD broadcaster I can see it causing some issues. |

If I would have had to look at each digital channel, wait for some kind of ID (I don't have the locals memerised around here) it would have taken at least an hour to figure it out. (just like the first time I ran the HDHR here, lots of guessing on what channel was what) Guess I'm just saying that it LOTS easier if you have a list and a guess what channels are what, as apposed to starting from scratch. I now keep this text file with a listing of the current HD channels, just in case I need to rebuild from scratch 60077 Comcast HD channels: call_sign - guide-channel - tune_channel WCIUDT - 183 - 105-1 WPWRDT - 184 - 105-2 WBBMDT - 189 - 114-1 WTTWDT - 191 - 114-2 WFLDDT - 190 - 115-2 WMAQDT - 188 - 115-5 WLSDT - 187 - 120-1 WGNDT - 192 - 120-2 WCPX - 18 - 122-2
