What would be nice would be a view or some way to sort DVDs by their file date and time. That way I could see the latest rips first. Sort of a "What's New" view. This I think would be a big hit.

A "What's New" view would be very cool.

What about a ratings list to show video or not to show videos of G, PG-13, R, NC-17, Adult.

I'm noticing an issue in the Classic Wide-Screen view with reflections where cover art for a movie one or two over from the center disappears while navigating. Sometimes it comes back after moving to the next movie, sometimes the default Sage cover art shows up, but sometimes it also switches to a non-reflection mode. Anyone else having this?

Could you give me some stats about your system. I have not seen this issue for a little while, and I was never able to track it down. I think it "might" be related to sage's internal image loading and caching. I was randomly getting back null objects from getting the thumbnail from Sage.

I have the new sorting options on my list. If the data is available to sort by I will add these options in. They are some good suggestions.

I also like the idea to filter out certain ratings. I will add this as well.

I'm running the latest Sage Beta on Vista Ultimate 32bit on a Core2Duo 2.4 (at 2.8) with 2Gigs of RAM and an NVidia 8600GTS fanless card. All of my cover art is from nicecovers.com, and most are about 50K in size. I am using the folder filter option and have about 5 sub menus that filter to different folders. Some have 75+ movies, others have 5-10. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm looking at a folder with ripped DVD's or converted MKV's. Thanks!

Just for clarification. You are using Sage Client, and not the HD100 or HD200. And you are using Sage Version 6.5.4.

I'm using the server in client mode on Sage 6.5.4. Thanks.

Is this compatible with the "Movies Info Screen" plugin?

Here is a suggestion. Any chance of adding coverart for the background?

You could move the dvd's down a little and have coverart appear in the background once you stop on a movie. This might be a little CPU intensive but would fill in what is kind of a blank background.

Or how about the option to slightly grey the other dvd's around the one that is in focus?

Some if not most of these things can be done right now. The icon layout is very customizable by the end user. The lsyouts that are provided are just my attempt at being an artist. I am hoping that someone with more skill than i will make a cool layout.

I just installed this and as soon as I select the new dynamic menu placeshifter crashes. I went back to a fresh sageMC xml and it still crashes. And by crashes I mean the placeshifter window goes away completely.

Any ideas or where to start looking?

Thanks
Greg

[edit: i tried this on the server and it worked fine, but on a placeshifter it crashes instantly]

I was not able to reproduce this. Can you give me some more information. What version of SageMC are you using. What version of Sage. What version of the placeshifter. Is there anything usefull in the debug log that might help figure out the problem?

Hi:

Has any progress been made on a Folder view?? I'd love to use this, but with TV Series like the X Files (9 Seasons!) & Buffy (7 Seasons!) in our collection, it is almost impossible to scroll through.

If I can be of any help in testing (600 + DVDs currently ripped on Server) let me know !!

Thanks !!

-Bruce

Hi Bruce,

I have not made much progress on the Folder view. I am still trying to wrap my head around how I am going to implement it.

I do not know how you have your media organized, but have you tried to use the folder filtering to make your library a little bit more manageable.

I am not sure when I am going to get it completed, because real life projects have been made higher on the priority list. I have been only sparingly been working on iMovies.

Hey there- I have to say, this STVi looks VERY cool! I'm now using it with the Movie info screen, and it's fantastic.

I've still got some digging to do on why this may be happening, I'll keep you informed if I can get it figured out. I can already tell you that nothing interesting appears to be logged in sagetv_0.txt

On direction; I *really* like the direction you're going with this- a central movie manager. My idea for the best way to go with this would be to build genre selection into the interface. Right now it can display a genre based on a filter, but there's no elegant way to pick different Genres. I suspect very few folks would have movie collections so large that picking a genre then a first letter wouldn't get the selection down to a manageable subset.

BTW, there are some *gorgeous* genre icons in the downloads section here:
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...do=file&id=221

They would be perfect for displaying the selected genre in your already excellent looking UI. I may have to break into the studio and play with it myself if I have to

[Update] I got it working; I had been using SageMC 6.3.8a, when I updated to 6.3.8b, it started working.

Cheers
Ikarius

IMDB Data

Hopefully this is an easy question. Where does the iMovie plugin save the imdb movie description data?
