Mind if I ask how you are achieving this? I am sure you are just putting a wait command ? (I know I could look but lazy this morning

Wheemer,

Can you give me some more specifics. What client are using using, what version of iMovies, what iMovies layout? If you are using the HD200/HD100 what are the specs on the server. There may be some config things you can tweak to make it go a little bit faster.

On my HD200 with the version 1.2.1 of iMovies the scrolling is flying. On my HD100 the scrolling is SO SO, but I do not think there is anything I can do to speed that up. It seems to be a hardware limitation.

Looking for feedback...

I am looking for some feedback on the latest version. When I first created iMovies there was no alternative options to the movie library screen in SageMC, and I really wanted to add a different option to Sage. Now we have Movie Wall by PLUCKYHD, and Jaminben is working on a new project. I want to make sure there is a need for me to continue on iMovies as opposed to focusing my energy on another part of Sage.

Thanks for any input you may have.

It's SageTV Client using an AMD 6400+ 4Gigs Vista 32bit
There's a real lage to loading the backgound images, but the scrolling is still slow.

I have attached my layout file. I think that after a few seconds of holding down the button, maybe the animations should be turned off? It seems like that might be whats doing it. Since the backgrounds are not loading when going through quickly.

This is still my favorite view of movies, with the one caveat that if one has 500+ videos navigation is not ideal. My solution was to create a sub menu with iMovie links (filters) to each of my different movie folders (Rentals, HD, Wife, My DVD's, TV Shows, etc). If filter/sub filter levels could somehow be integrated that would be great. If it already is, I appologize, I haven't kept up with the progress on this forum.

I am using SageTV Client on a AMD 6400 Vista 32 and the server is running on a P4 3.4

I notice on my more on mvp than the client that it looses the previous background before displaying the next one.

Can it hold onto the previous till displaying the next? Scrolling is still slow on both. To speed up the SageTV client maybe you can disable animations after pressing for a few seconds? I'm not sure it would help but it seem like the animations are lagging.

The background could drop out completely when scrolling fast too, maybe.

Actually you could even drop everything but the dvd art when searching fast since that's all we need...

Wheemer,

I did some testing, and I am seeing the performance issue you are seeing. I need to look into it a little bit more, but I think it might help if I use the scaling and caching routine for the coverart from the phoenix API. My guess is that the issue is grabing the covers over the network. If I allow iMovies to cache locally then it might alleviate the issue. I turned off animiations, and I still saw the same performance issue, so I do not think that is the issue. Plus I have animations interuptible turned on, which is working great on the HD200. This allows user input to interupt and stop the current animation.

I will tell you I am surprised by this though, because the scrolling FLIES on the HD200. I would think the Client instance would outperform the HD200.

By the way nice use of the customization features You used almost every option.

Alright, I did some more investigation of this, and nothing I am doing seems to make any difference at all.

I also noticed that the standard video library is scrolling slow as well. Can you confirm this.

Josh,

Have you tried scaling the fanat covers and the reflections as well?

Yes I did... It did not make a difference. It is kinda weird what I am seeing. It seems to be faster on the placeshifter than on the standard client. The HD100 is faster than fast, and the placeshifter is acceptable. It looks like it is only slow on a client machine.

Are you running iMovies on a standard client machine? If so is your performance when scrolling any good?

I have a standard machine (it is not a client but a server)

Runs perfect on it. but then again so does my new movie wall

I have noticed my hd200 performance better than my server pc (for coding) at times on my app and yours.

I wish the app would allow caching of the transformed image would help me allot. The transformation call it killing my speed

I just set this up this weekend. I'm noticing that the fanart is not covering all of the background. I remember having this issue with one of the earlier versions of SageMC and Mike fixed it for his stuff. Any ideas?

Would you mind double checking your overscan settings in detailed setup just to confirm it is set properly. If it is could you post a screen cap so I can see what it looks like.

Thanks,
Josh

This is on my HD200. I can't do a screen cap and I don't think they support overscan.

Edit: My mistake, they do have overscan and it was off badly. It's still off very slightly, but I should be able to fix it with my overscan settings. Thanks.

No problem Toricred. I am glad I was able to help. One thing to note about the overscan. On the new flat panel TV's some of them have a different overscan for each resolution. This has annoyed me to no end. I turned off native resolution switching because of it.

Im having a little trouble getting this to work guys. Im new to SageTV and I just purchased an HD-200. Let me run the steps I did to install and maybe you can tell me where I went wrong.

1. First I installed Sage TV version 6.5.9 on my windows server.
2. Then I installed the SageMC16x9 on my windows server.
3. Next I installed the imovies stvi by the instructions and added a dynamic link to my main menu.
4. I then booted up my HD-200 and let it auto find my server. It started up great and looks just like the server screen.

The menu link works just fine and I can scroll through the movies in my directory fine but when I select a movie with the enter or info button it just locks up. I cant get out of this screen without rebooting my HD-200. Movies play just fine when playing from the sagemc video menu.

Any idea what I might be missing??

Thanks

Could you give me a little bit more information. What version of SageTV, SageMC and iMovies are you using. Do you have Jaminben's Movie Info Screen installed?

I have not seen this issue yet, so I am not sure what is going on.
