Subtitle support in mp4 container with 6.5.4?
I just installed the new beta and when I click on the "View Video Details" for an .mp4 file with Subtitles in it, it tells me that it contains (Subpic:eng) Subs.
I do not remember Sage ever being able to tell me if an imported video has any internal subs in it or not. Is this a sign that Sage will support this in the future? I hope so, I have a ton of movies encoded by Nero Recode that contain Subtitles in the mp4 container...

Hello,
Are you referring to the Subs at the end? I also use Nero Recode and all my movies are encoded with 2 audio tracks and subtitles and looking at post I made couple of months ago http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32994 the movie at that time was showing as H.264 38:21 608x336@25fps, AAC@48kHz 5.1 eng, AAC@48kHz Stereo eng, Subpic:eng, Subpix:cze |

Based on the release announcement
1. Enabled switching between different audio tracks for MKV, ASF, MOV and AVI files when playing back with the HD Media Extender (firmware update required) It seems that mp4 container audio switching wouldn't work either.

Now I wonder if the MKV audio track selection will somehow appear on the SageTV Clients ???

I can happily confirm that switching between audio tracks in mp4 files created by Nero Recode works like a charm :-)

In SageTV Software subtitles kind of work for imported videos, but Sage is not giving us any easy way for switching between them. (See this thread). |

I am not talking about subtitles. I am talking about different audio tracks. You can switch them either using the audio button on the remote or using the Options dialog while watching video (e.g. track 1 is 5.1 audio, track 2 is stereo audio with director's comments). Also this is not SageTV software forum only, this is Beta forum.
The issue is probably that I little bit hijacked the thread :-)

Again, we are talking about the imported videos, while you're probably talking about DVDs. Yes, these things work there.

I am talking about imported videos created by Nero Recode (mp4 container) but as I said above, it is related to audio tracks and not subtitles so I moved this to a separate thread.

I asked this question quite a while ago and as you can see from this thread, I never got a clear answer.
Any help would be appreciated... Is there a way to make Sage (Software, Beta or Extender) play the "Subtitles" inside the MP4 container created by Nero Recode? I'm currently on 7.0.11
