EPG & dmr-eh55 & switch to digital
I am new to the forum, not sure of what company puts up the tv Guide I been getting but it quit, dont work any more.
I am in USA, Nebraska use direct tv, EPG been comming across on pbs and cbs. now the panny eh55 (dvd recorder) cant find any guide info, but it does still find the time. when the new digital signal is all we have, will the new digital EPG be backwards compatible with the more than 25 million analog devices that are currently in use in the usa? Thanks BC |

You didn't mention SageTV's relationship to your EPG issue... are you using SageTV? As the description says at the top of this page, this is the forum for EPG issues in SageTV & I'm not sure how that could relate to your question. EPG data for SageTV in the U.S. will continue to work as it always has.
I think you are referring to EPG data for other devices; if so, then you should try a more general purpose electronics forum. - Andy

"not sure of what company puts up the tv Guide I been getting but it quit, dont work any more." And clarified with "EPG been comming across on pbs and cbs." I have been searching the net, not finding much, even thoug I do not know what sage is, I though someone here might know what it going on. A more to the point question might be, Can the New digital signal that cbs and pbs will be using carry a EPG that will work with the 25 million devices that are out there? I got from your responce that encouraged me to leave and go elseware, that sage is not the EPG that cbs and pbs have been using. So where else can I go to look and ask my question? I am not getting much on my searches Thanks BC |
