Tuner Priority

SageTV seems to want to use the HDPVR as tuner #1. I would prefer that it be the lowest on the list.

Is there are way (like in BTV) to set a preference in the order of the tuners?

Search where? XML files, the GUI, give me a better sense of what I have to do here.

I think he meant the forums: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...t=ecoder+merit

If that post doesn't work check out the PDF manual.

I have to say, YMMV on this one. The tuner priority does not always work.

I have posted this before and no one really seems to care, perhaps putting it here will make someone say "what?" and start a dialogue.

I have four tuners, via 2 HDHRs. They are prioritized, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Tuners #4 and #3 have one city lineup. Tuners #2 and #1 have another city. When the exact same show is on both lineups - i.e., anything on the four major networks, with an affiliate in each city - for some reason, my Sage wants to use tuner #2 or #1 most of the time.

Strange exception: when I reboot my server, it seems to find the priorities and everything will be scheduled to record on the local channel (tuner 4/3)... but as time passes after a reboot, more and more stuff seems to prioritize to tuners 2/1. It's currently been a few weeks since a server reboot and almost every single show wants to record on tuners 2/1.

Anyone else seen this? (I know, no one has, since no one ever replied when I posted this before)

Which tuner set was added first? I am wondering if it might have to do with the EPG data.

Correct me where I am wrong, but I would assume #4/3 line up has ABC, CBS & NBC (among others). Tuner #2/1 also has ABC, CBS & NBC, just from a different city. Both sets of tuners are using the same logical channel number for all these stations; ie if ABC was channel 8 for tuner #2/1 it is also channel 8 for tuner #4/3. Am I correct so far?

Assuming this is the way it is, when you go into the Program Guide and view the ABC local nightly news broadcast information, which city's data does it show?

The other possibility would be that tuner #2/1 might have shows marked as HD, that tuner #4/3 do not (even though they are the same exact show, one station might not be marking a show as HD). An example of this is Damages on FX, the episodes on FXHD are broadcast in HD, but they are not marked as HD airings for whatever reason.
