Blu-Ray playback no sound

I don't know if I should report this as a bug or not. I use AnydvdHD to rip the Blu-Ray to disk, like I used a DVD. I see it in my media files and when I play it under 6.5.11 it looks nice but no sound on my HD200.

Is there a fix and is this known?

For the record this was with the video 'Then She Found Me'

Thanks
Andy

What format is the audio? The extender will play some formats, pass some formats on via optical, and not do anything with some formats. There is a lot of info on the forums, search is your friend.

Try selecting another audio track. I think you do this by pressing the options button on the remote white the movie is playing.

no or wrong audio

I've got the same problem.

Some rips on my client don't play audio, other only play the French or Spanish tracks. I've tried changing audio tracks and it did not change or help.

The ones i tried are Nims Island, Sum of All Fears

I have a neat little system for ripping Blu-rays if your interested.

Since most Blu-rays have a Dolby True HD or DTS-HD tracks, I first pull off the audio track using TSMuxer. I then use eac3to to convert the audio track to plain Dolby Digital. I then again use TSMuxer to pull off the video, combined with the audio track from eac3to to get a pure ts file. (Note: I do all this without ripping the Blu-ray disk to the hard drive, as long as AnyDVDHD is running you can pull directly from the disk...)

With this method you only get the main movie, not the menu's & such. But the movie is a lot smaller in size and has compatible audio.

If you're using the latest TSMuxer (came out about a week ago) you only need to do as you describe for DTS tracks.

With True HD you can just use TSMuxer to mux from the disk and select the True HD track and check the Downconvert True HD to AC3 box. Also, I think now (with the latest firmware) the HD-200 will downmix the True HD internally to AC3 and output through HDMI and Optical.

I just used the new TSMuxer (www . smlabs.ru/tsMuxer/tsMuxeR_1.8.8(b).zip) on the movie V For Vendetta. Muxed the VC-1 movie track and the True HD track (no downconvert) from disc to hard drive with Create Blu-ray Disk as output format.

The resulting 00001.m2ts file plays back on the HD-200 with audio through HDMI in Player Mode and the movie folder structure plays in Extender Mode w audio through HDMI .

Nice!

HelenWeathers, I just downloaded version 1.8.8 of tsMuxeR. I had version 1.8.4. Neither version converts HD DTS to AC3. There is a box to down convert HD-DTS to DTS. Am I missing something?

I made a mistake in that post, I should have said ver 1.8.18.
The newest versions are 1.8.18 and just yesterday I found 1.8.19.

With DTS HD you still need eac3to to convert the DTS HD track to ac3, Or there's Clown_BD_v0.32b which manages tsMuxeR and eac3to thru one GUI. I've only done one BD with it so far but it worked well and you tell it what to do up front and come back to a finalized copy.
