Locator Found Server but Can't connect

I am no longer able to access Placeshifter from my office. I didn't change anything on my server or router so I am wondering if this is due to changes in my company's firewall.

In the Placeshifter Servers manager it says "Locator Found Server" but then it can't connect. If the Locator Found the server does this mean that my Server connection to the internet is OK but that the client can't connect?

Yes, that's what it means. Most likely your IT department has blocked the ports Placeshifter uses. You could try asking them for help in getting it working again. If they're OK with you using their network (and your work time) for that purpose, they might open it up again for you. If they're not OK with it, you could be risking your job by doing it without their permission.

I've had this exact problem today as well. Locator sees the server but I couldn't connect. I did some playing around and using the uPNP setting, I changed the forwarded port on my server and was able to connect to the server -- once. Did everything I could think of, but was never able to connect again.

I then opened the Sage.Properties and changed the port that the server listens on to 31098 (from 31099) and bingo -- I can now connect every time. Not sure exactly why this fixes it -- but somewhere something is blocking or using port 31099 allowing me only to connect occasionally.

Skiier Dude - I think I will have to follow your advice and change the port. Yesterday I tried connecting from my mother's house and there is no one blocking any ports from her end. Therefore there must be some issue at my end. I used to be able to connect but that may be before I moved my Sage from a temporary to a permanent server. I will try a different post and see how things go.

Not that this is anyone else issue, but I just had the same problem today and I went to the server and restarted the sage service and now I am good.

This ended up being some sort of an issue with the Locator number. I deleted the lines in sage.properties that dealt with Placeshifter and it automagically generated a new Placeshifter located ID that works fine.

I had this problem today. Instead of connecting via locator ID I tried connecting using my DynDNS address and that worked.
