1 of 3 linkstations wants a password

i have 3 buffalotech gigabit linkstations (no they are not exactly the same model)............with my ziova media player, all 3 are freely accessible, as they are from pc's

with the hd200, 2 of them are accessible and one asks for a password.....huh?

anyone have a suggestion before i go into troubleshooting/debugging mode?
no password has ever been requested by any of my other media players before

the two that just work are HG300LAN units (a dlink raid box also works fine w/o password being requested)
the one that requests a password on the sage media player is a LS500GL

all 3 have administration level passwords set but the 300GB units never ask for a password and the 500GB unit does..............hmmmmmm

any ideas?

i'll capture a log of accessing each of the 3 for a bug report tomorrow if nobody has a solution (like i'm doing something brain-dead stupid
that i'll be embarrassed by when i finally figure it out...................)
