Maybe you could describe the setup and troubleshooting steps you've taken so far. Did you download the SageTV-specific version of the R5000 software? Did you follow the instructions on this page to configure Sage for R5000 use? Is the R5000 software running when you try to set up the video source in Sage?

Okay got it working but have other problems.

Sometimes when changing channels I get a black screen. I can remote into the WHS and see the r5000 progam has captured a screend. If I hit record/ or stop and restart boom the pitcure is there.

Other times when I change channels I get the popup like I have told it to stop if I hit restart once sometimes twice the feed will show up?

Cool, deal I just came this problem not long ago.. Make the delay 4-5 seconds in the sgraphrecorder.ini, it will be slower to tune channels back never leave you with bad recordings...

I am not having bad recordings they are fine but it is not working in livetv unless i start the live feed (which shows a black screen) then go into recorded tv section and select the live feed suddenly it will be there.

I should say, that I did not mean only bad recordings, Live TV is a recording being played back at the same time as it is recorded.
I would get a black screen or No Signal many many times (also bad records) with a short delay, once I made the delay long enough, the STB has time to change the channel, switch the firewire stream that is getting sent out and sgraph sends Sage a clean uninterrupted feed for the box..
If the Sage trys to grab the feed too soon, the feed is still getting updated in the STB as the channel change happens, and for some reason, either it is Sage or Sgraph, something goes wacky...
Give it a try, I think it will be better right away..
I never get a bad tune with 4.5 seconds delay (4500ms), before with the 1.5 that was shown in the manual, I would get about every other Live TV play would fail, until, I stopped it, let it stop recording, then played again... (many bad records as well)

SGraphRecorder.ini

If you used the default install instructions in the firewire recording thread, it will be in C:\gethd
Let me know if this helps:-)

How are you using an R5000 mod via USB? Can you link to the setup instructions that you followed?

PLUCKYHD,

I've been out of town on spring break, so I'm just now seeing this thread. Are you still having troubles?

One thing I can say is I was never able to get mine to work on port 6969. I had to use 6968 instead. It would never connect on 6969.

Have you contacted R5000 support. They have always been very helpful when I've needed them.

Let me know what troubles your still having (if any) and I'll try to help.

I've disabled the screen saver and set up a timer at 3:55 am every day to tune channel 105. It works great. Ready for sage to do its days work.

I have not tried commercial skip. Maybe I should.

You haven't lived life until you have commercial skip. Send the commskip guy a donation ( I recomend no less than $20 IMHO) and he will give you access to the beta version which does h.264 and mpeg 4.

Could you detail what you did with the timer? I tried a batch file based on the command line documentation but it didn't work.
