Does Sage HD200 play m2ts files?

My home video footage of the kids is in .m2ts format. It's raw footage downloaded from the hard drive of a panasonic HD video cam. Will the HD200 play this? I can't seem to get it to find the files after doing an import scan, which makes me wonder if it recognizes the files as a valid playable format. Using SageMC.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Does your sage.properties file include the m2ts extension? I would check that and make sure you run the import library scan again.

c:\program files\sage tv\sage tv\sage.properties

Make sure you stop Sage TV and the Sage TV service if it is running. Else Sage will overwrite your changes.

Search for mph, or avi, there should be a line of all the file extensions being included, just make sure m2ts is included. Being that the HD-200 can play bluray back it should have no issue with the m2ts files from your camcorder.

Thanks. Found it. It has m2ts listed among all the other file type extensions for video library.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you. Looks like I have the most recent betas for the HD200 and Sage Media Center. Also have the most recent version of SageMC. I wonder if there is something odd about the video files since they are straight off the video camera. Not really sure. The extension is definitely m2ts. I wonder if I need to give them a normal letter name rather than the numerical name the camera gave them?

At the HD-200, in the firmware area, did you type in BETA, do check against the beta firmware?

Have you done a library import scan?

As a follow up on this thread and for the benefit of others having a similar problem, I accidently solved the problem with playing these files. (Previously, overnight, they showed up in the list of non-DVD videos but would not play). While working to solve another problem I foolishly created by deleting a local host import path, I shut down sage server and the HD200, deleted the sage.properties file (as well as the sage.properties backup file) and then restarted both the server and HD200. It rebuilt the properties file. Afterwards, I noticed that these home movies showed up fine (again) and now played fine. (It also solved my other problem). So, seems like, at least for me, the properties file needed to be deleted and rebuilt to work with the new m2ts formats in the beta software.

My .m2ts files (AVC-HD) from my Canon HG20 camcorder show up with the rest of my imported videos. I didn't do anything but add the proper folder to the import list, but I'm using the release version, not beta. SageTV thumbnails the videos properly and the HD200 plays them fine after a 1 or 2 second delay. Just for kicks I tried the HD200 in standalone mode and it also played a raw clip from a USB stick as well. This is not why I bought the HD200, but it's a nice bonus.
