Stop forum pop-up previews?

Is there any way to stop the forum from displaying that pop-up preview of every thread your mouse hovers over? Then, when you click through to a thread, the pop-up from the thread listing still shows, so you need to click something to get rid of it. I usually wind up clicking someone's profile name and mistakenly wind up on that page instead. It's driving me insane! I'm about to stop using my mouse to browse the forum because I'm sick of the pop-up covering what I'm trying to look at, but then my tab key is going to go into overdrive.

I see this in both IE7 and Firefox 3.0.10.
