HD100 locks up every 10 minutes
I have a HD100 that locks up every 10 minutes when playing a video. I'm running the latest firmware "20090528 0" on the extended, the 6.5.20 RC on the backend and the latest version of java on the backend. I have tried using the HDMI output, the component video output, I've tried limiting the video resolution to 480p, I've tried playing mpeg2 files and h.264 files....it still locks up about every 10 minutes.
I'm still able to telnet into the HD100 when it locks up. The HD100 is able to ping my backend so the network connectivity is fine. I ran the "sh runclient.sh 192.168.1.15" debug on the extender: d095 v090 a099 stc 1335996 a 1335996 v 1336942 (1335974) d096 v091 a099 stc 1336539 a 1336539 v 1337476 (1336541) d097 v091 a099 stc 1337078 a 1337078 v 1337943 (1337075) d097 v092 a099 stc 1337622 a 1337621 v 1338510 (1337609) d092 v092 a099 stc 1338151 a 1338151 v 1339010 (1338143) d092 v092 a099 stc 1338701 a 1338700 v 1339578 (1338710) d099 v093 a099 stc 1339213 a 1339213 v 1340078 (1339211) HDMI 1 (change 0) d094 v093 a099 stc 1339751 a 1339751 v 1340612 (1339745) d099 v093 a099 stc 1340256 a 1340256 v 1341213 (1340245) d095 v093 a099 stc 1340780 a 1340780 v 1341713 (1340779) HDMI 1 (change 0) HDMI 1 (change 0) HDMI 1 (change 0) HDMI 1 (change 0) HDMI 1 (change 0) Where you see the repeating "HDMI 1 (change 0)" messages is where it was locked up. What else should I try here? |

20090528 0 is not the latest firmware. There is a 20090611 firmware that is specifically recommended to run if you are using the new RC. I would try upgrading and see if that fixes your problem.

I double checked, I'm actually running 20090611.

This sounds like some type of IP conflict issue on your network. Is the HD100 using a static or dynamic IP number? I would use wireshark to see what happens on the network during the lockup.

You might also want to go into the settings of the HD200 in stand alone and set it to always use HDMI (or something to that affect) if you haven't done that already.

Bingo! I'm not sure what device had the same IP address but changing the IP address on my HD100 did fix the lockup issue. It's weird though because I sniffed the wire for about 30 minutes and never saw the IP that I had been using.

THAT DID IT!
Thanks!
I happened across this thread, and it fixed MY current problem too! I installed the newest code, and tried an MVP which i Hadn't used in a while, and found it was locking up after about 5 minutes or so.. consistently... Turned out to be an apparent IP conflict.. Gave the box a new reservation on the DHCP server, and it seems to be fine.. Strangely, I can't find anything else trying to take the IP address, but, I'm sure somewhere there is something.. Too bad the extenders can't give us a conflict message.. Seems that if I had gotten a conflict message on screen, it'd have stopped 3 days of frustration!! Oh well, that's a beef w/ Hauppauge I guess, not w/ Sage! :-) -Steve |
