HD200 media extender and wmv7
I am currently running whs with sagetv 6.6.2 and my hd200 firmware is 20090702 0. I realise that the hd200 does not directly support wmv7 but thought that in conjunction with the sagetv server was suppose to be able to play it back. My videos do playback fine on the whs in the sagetv application there but when I try to play it back using the hd200 in extender mode it just give me a black screen no audio and acts like it is actually playing the movie. The old media system had used a xbox and I have quite a large collection of movies in the following format (ASF[WMV7/3.0Mbps 480p@30fps, WMAPRO/256Kbps@48kHz Stereo]) well over 400 movies and unfortunately recoding all of these or reripping them would be a monumental undertaking. Is there any easy way for me to be able to watch these movies on my HD-200 other then recoding em all?

It may be the WMAPro audio track that is causing the issue. AFAIK you would need to recode them.

I'm pretty sure WMAPro audio isn't supported, and WMV7 video might not be either. It might only be WMV9/VC1 that's supported for video.

I know that the HD200 does not direcly support WMV7 or WMV8 as I stated i my original post but I thought that the sever side would stream it in a playbable format for the HD200 as long as it played on the server computer in he sagetv client which it does. As for the audio track:
Audio formats suppported: MP2, MP3, AAC, AAC-HE, ALAC, WMA, WMAPro, PCM, Vorbis (stereo only), FLAC, AC3 (stereo down-mix/pass-through), TrueHD (stereo down-mix/pass-through as AC3 5.1), DTS (pass-through), DTS-HD/MA (pass-through as DTS 5.1) It clearly states WMApro is in the list so I don't think that the audio should be a problem. |

No it doesn't, the server doesn't do anything beyond stream the files to the HD200. There's no transcoding done for the HD extenders (because they support near everything on their own).
