WOL workaround (IR ON/OFF in stead of TOGGLE)

Hi all,

I found a workaround for the biggest shortcomming of SageTV till now.
When your server is in sleep mode, starting an extender won't boot up the server thus giving ... nothing.
What I did was putting an USB IR receiver on the server. I used the standard Microsft IR remote.
To command all my AV equipement, I use the Harmony 895 RF remote. I placed one of the IR transmitters of the Harmony on the IR receiver of my server.
While programming my Harmony, I also send the POWER TOGGLE signal to the server as a default. This results in my server booting from sleep mode if he was in sleep mode and my extender boots, and the AV equipement attached to it.
NICE you would say no ?

Except for the case that if my server was still running, this setup puts my server to slee

So now my big question: Is there a ON (OFF) command that exists to put my server ON if it is asleep and leave it ON if its awake ??

TNX !

Bibi

Seems you will want to run something like eventghost or the sort to trap the incoming IR signal and do nothing with it if not asleep.

the USB-UIRT can use any IR command as a wake-up event, so you COULD program your extender's power IR into the USB-UIRT as the wake command, and it would wake it up. Still, they REALLY should program in transmitting of magic packet wake events to the extenders startup.
