Question Upgrading to 6.6.1

The last time i was on was back on 7/26, and I see we have had a bunch of updates. So I did a full install of I believe 6.0 or 6.2 (Whichever version was available in April 2009 when I became a customer), the Malore menu's and Dynamic Menu add on's. I recalled I had a little trouble. Well now months have passed since that install, and I suspect the 6.6.2.1 I just downloaded with the Malore STVi and Dynamic Menu STvi has no upgrade path??

If I want to upgrade to the latest version do I just wipe SageTv Directory
and do a fresh install of 6.6.2.1, and do all the configuration of the channel scans, etc? Then move on to the Malore Menu's and Dynamic Menu's and configure all the options by hand all over again?

If that is the way it is, so be it. I will just be sure to make sure I
copy down my Video settings as it took some playing with two HVR-1950's
to get that right. I don't mind having to do a full reinstall, but I don't
want to have to do one if there is a way to upgrade and avoid all the
configuration? (It don't hurt to ask....especially the SageTV community which is one of the most helpful communities of all the sites I belong to for all the endless technology and gadgets I buy and make myself poor with regularly.

Thanks!

Upgrading to a new version of SageTV is pretty simple: you download the new version's installer, exit SageTV, & run the installer.

More info is in the PDF manual: chapter 2's section titled "Upgrading to a Newer Version", p. 11.

Or, see this FAQ:
What should I do if I plan to upgrade to a newer version of SageTV?

The top of that FAQ has a link to another topic on how to upgrade.

All I do to upgrade is make a backup copy of my Sagetv folder and then install on top of the existing Sagetv. This hasn't caused me a problem yet and I keep all my settings.

Thanks! About the add-in STV's?

Thank you! Forgot to enable subscription so I didn't see any replies which is really obtuse for the SageTv community. Thanks for the pointers. Glad the upgrade process is so straight forward.

One more question, but I suspect I know the answer... The Malore menu's and Dynamic menu's appear updated. I am pretty happy with the current versions
and the configuration. Must I upgrade, or can I leave the existing? I suspect it is good practice however.

Kind regards,
Mark
