2250 MCE Remote

I have been using GBPVR lately and am considering SageTV for a few reasons so i thought i would give the trial a go. I have a HVR 2250 that came with an MCE remote/IR receiver and blaster. I know there are alot of posts about using remotes with SageTV and i get that you can use various programs with it. My question is.....why is this MCE remote commans not registering with SageTV when the MCE option is clicked on in the setup. I can only change channels up and down as well as the volume and can also use the play/stop commands. The number buttons or any of the others are being seen. Is this what i need those programs for or should SageTV recognize it? Thanks for helping this potential SageTV user.

What OS are you running? You shouldn't have to do anything but plug it in and select MCE remote in Sage. That's how it works if you're running XP.

Make sure in the Device Manager that the eHome Receiver shows up. You may need to install drivers for it because XP did not natively support it.

try this or this. I know you're on XP but one of these should work.
