Double-check and make sure if you're having issues that you are NOT using the Phoenix Fanart for the Default v1.3. v1.3 had a bug that would reset the base STV it is using back to an older version from July. v1.4 of the Phoenix Fanart for the Default STV fixes that issue.

Let me make sure I understand your post, Gerry. I use SageMC and only have Phoenix jars included with that STV, so this shouldn't effect me, correct? I did revert to the stock STV for the visualization test. I wasn't using fanart there.

Not 100% positive, but I think you're OK. I don't think it affects those (like me and you) who just use the JARs.

This would only affect a user who is using the Default STV and has imported the Phoenix Fanart for the Default v1.3 STVI. If this version is in the last of managed plugins then you will have the issue of it being based on an older STV even if you updated your STV. Either remove the plugin altogether and perform the STV updates until you have the latest. Verify it in Sage's systen info. Or make sure you are using v1.4 of Phoenix Fanart for the Default. SageMC is not affected by the bug I am talking about because it is an .STVI for the Default STV.

If restarting your HD200 did not include unplugging it to remove power for a few seconds, then try that.

Well, after moving back to SageMC and using the HD200 to actually watch TV instead of "tweaking", I decided to go back to the stock STV one more time and try again. It is now working for some reason....

Opus, I did unplug for a couple seconds during the original attempts. I am sure that these types of unpredictable errors and system responses have got to drive Sage's developers NUTS!!!

After the first update the new visualizations worked fine and were impressive. The latest update that is supposed to make them smoother just give me a solid black screen.

That's a known issue listed in the previous (and now the current) firmware notes: try restarting the music and/or the HD200.

Same here. Got it working right after the original initial firmware update. And nothing since the latest update. Tried everything. Just a black screen.

You can add me to the list of people that can't get it working. I'm running Sage v 6.6.2.218, STV 2009102001, and firmware 20091026-0. I just get a black screen. I've restarted music playback, I've tried restarting the HD200, and I've tried restarting my server. I still just get a black screen.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have the new visualizations working with the latest STV and HD200 beta firmware? I haven't filed a bug report since based on the previous posts it sounds like this should be a known issue, but maybe that's a false assumption.

The issue is known, I believe I have fixed it for the next beta firmware. Please report it again if you still have it once it is released.

Thanks

I'm obviously still using the same firmware and stv, since the new one isn't out yet, but the visualizations suddenly started working. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but instead of using the default STV I used SageMC. Ever other time I tried to get it working I went to the default STV and tried it.

In addition, now it also works in the default STV. It's weird though, since I had tried getting the visualizations to work several times before, including restarting the server, extender, etc. Maybe trying in SageMC first did something. I really have no idea.

It's probably a moot point, but I wanted to relay my observations in case they're useful to anyone.
