Upgrading SageTV
I updated to latest version and the system info screen says I have 6.5.18.214 installed. I reran 6.6.2 setup and still nothing changed. Am I doing something wrong? I am trying to find out because I am have the issue where I go to video source setup and I can't preview any channels. I get the Watch Request Failed error. It doesn't matter whether it's an analog or digital source. This was working the last time I set it up which was over the summer. I have 2 hauppauge 2250 cards and have had no issues until now. I have only the playon podcast plugin loaded and I reverted back to standard sagetv3.xml before I reran the setup again. But I'm sure it is something I'm not doing right.

If you want the latest SageTV (6.6.2) you would need to download the latest software for it and install it. You have only updated the STV, not the SageTV software package.

I did download the latest package. I did that this morning.

I'm talking the full software download from the website. Not the STV update you find here on the forums. The latest system info will tell you it is 6.6.1.217. That is the latest 6.6.2. You ran setup over your existing install and had shutdown the Sage service and/or quit Sage from the system tray?

And that is what I am saying I did. I went to the download page and downloaded the full version of 6.6.2. Installed over existing. Shutdown sage and I am not running the service.

I'm not sure what is wrong then. I run SageTV as a service on Windows Home Server. That version and the version on the clients are all 6.6.2.218 or 6.6.1.217 on my PC client. Are you sure the update installed to your original directory and not another one? From your screen shot you are running 6.5. Look to see how many installs of Sage you have under Program Files or if you have the update installed to a directory within your original SageTV directory.

Thanks for your input Gerry, but i ended up installing sage on another system then transferring the updated .exe, .dll, and .jar files over to the server. This fixed the version listed as well as fixed the previewing in channel setup. I couldn't figure out either why it would refuse to update the files in the first place but it's updated now.

Sounds like your install (upgrade) went to the wrong directory.
