One USB-UIRT and 4 STB's No Zones
I thought this might be off interest.
I struggled with a multi-tuner system to the point of almost giving up. I have an old USP-UIRT, that is not zone friendly. But I have new Directv receivers. The new receivers allow you to program them as unique IR units. SO you change each box to 1,2,3 and 4 and change the remote that goes with it. Then you program the USB-UIRT from within sage, for each unit, mine was DT-1, DT-2, DT-3, DT-4 and quit. Now you can start the system and the USB-UIRT will send the right signal for the proper box and the other boxes will do nothing. All signals come form the one transmitter and it works just fine.. SO four tuners, SAME MODEL, One Usb-uirt, and one transmitter, All changing independently. |

nice that DirectTV has finally added this feature. (Though Dish has had 15 different addresses for MANY, MANY years).

I tried to do exactly what you are doing with some Bell (aka Dish) boxes and it didn't work. I changed the remote control address on each receiver. I then got the new ir codes (through Lrnhelper) and made new files for them. I setup the new video sources on Sage.
For some reason, sage will work with one receiver correctly and not any of the others. Did I have to add more information in the .ir files, or was there something else that I missed? |

That's pretty much what you need to do. You made sure you learned the right codes, correct? (Changed the remote to the proper address?). You are sure the USB-UIRT is pointing at all the boxes?
