Transcodes with bad audio -help needed
I did some transcodes the other day of HD recorded shows. I chose the profile: MPEG4 HDTV-High Quality AVI. Now the shows will not play. The video just freezes and there is no audio. After lots of troubleshooting I've narrowed it down to bad audio tracks. VLC is the only player that will attempt to play them. The video looks fine but the audio is trashed. It sounds like clicks, pops and screeches. I extracted teh audio track from one of them and tried to open it in Audacity. All I saw was flat waveforms as if there is no audio at all. Does anyone know of any other tools I could try to repair the bad audio with, or see exactly whats wrong with it? Mediainfo states it is 48.0 Kbps, 48.0 khz, 6 channel AC3. The source was 384 Kbps, 48 khz, 6 channel AC3.
