New Mac betas and .ts files
The new Placeshifter and client betas are both having trouble playing back .ts files from my newly rebuilt windows server.
HD .mpg recordings from a HDHR playback just fine, but all recordings from the HD PVR (.ts) sage has trouble rendering. To illustrate, the video will begin playing and the sound will continue but the video stalls. The same recordings playback just fine with VLC across the network. Anyone else having trouble with playback of HD PVR (or any .ts) files on the Mac client or Placeshifter?

I have problems with playback on macs, seeking and rewind do not well at all. I had fixed this under windows before with the patch but no such thing exists for mac. They have not recompiled it.

Paying .ts files has become unworkable for me. serverctl just uses all my cpu and the video gets choppier and choppier as I play it until it is untenable.
HD mpgs seem fine for me too. SD .ts files do nto seem to be as bad either. It is just HD .ts content. Otherwise I just finally had a stable sage setup. |

So I mangled it up. Somehow my version of sage had reverted to something old. No idea how but it did.
I have upgraded again to the latest beta and everything works great again, EXCEPT seeking and skip. Seeking is essentially non-functional. It does work in the older versions before the cpu goes to 100%. |

The .ts file is just a (transport stream) container. MPEG-2 files received with a HDHomeRun use the ts container by default. The problem is with the h.264 file being decoded. My guess is that the version of Mplayer being used doesn't handle h.264 very well.

The old version of sage for mac worked ok, as does the windows version and my HD200. I have submitted a bug report and uploaded a .ts file to the developers.
Awaiting developments now. |

I have been having this issue for the last several Mac betas. .ts files are an epic fail at this point. I even edited the mplayer.conf file and increased the size of the caches which didn't help much. They need to recompile the latest version of mplayer and include it in the next build.
