USB UIRT and multizone setup - need help please
Okay, I have 2 STB's (Motorola DCT-700's) and two Hauppauge capture cards, along with a USB-UIRT.
I am trying to get Zone 1 and Zone 2 working; which I have confirmed is working when using the LrnHelper.exe application and changing the "learned" code I pumped into it by prefacing the first numeric string with a Z1 or Z2. In Sage, I have modified two copies of the Motorola DCT2000 .IR file which is included in the distro; one is renamed zone1 and its codes prefaced with Z1, the other accordingly renamed Zone2 and prefaced with Z2. However, when I try and change channels and the like, it doesn't work. The .IR files are included for review should anyone wish to look at them. Thanks |

Did you try setting up the USB-UIRT with in the tuner control, reprogram code? Setup, video sources, select your tuner card, select tuner control, reprogram infrared code.

I believe you need to add a space after the Z1 and Z2 on each line. Here's an example from my working DirecTV zone 1 file:
Code:
DirTV001 0 0 0 200 200 Enter 0 Z1 0000 006B 0000 000A 0074 002F 002E 002F 0017 0018 0017 0018 0017 002F 0017 0018 0017 002F 0017 002F 002E 0018 0017 0487 1 Z1 0000 006B 0000 000A 0074 002F 002E 002F 0017 0018 0017 0018 0017 0018 0017 0018 0017 002F 0017 0018 0017 002F 0017 0487

The .ir files are not included, if you did you rediting in notepad it changes the extension to .txt. Make sure you have the correct extensions on your system.

When I attempt to reprogram an IR code, the dialogue box that says "Select an infrared code from the list below..." is empty. ??
The zone files I uploaded were renamed to .txt for portability. They are named *.ir on disk. I also tried leaving a space between the Z and the zone number, no difference. I also notice that when I try and change channels, the USB UIRT does not light up any of the IR's, nor does the front LED activity light on the USB UIRT spark up. Well holy $hit. I'm not sure where this last bit of info is documented, but I thank you SHS whomever you are. That solved it.
I appreciate all the feedback to my question. |
