What DVD video decoder is best
I cannot get my ripped DVD's to show up in the My Video selection. I have had a problem with this since I have started using SageTV. They are on the hard drive in the proper directories but a media scan does not show them either in Default SVT or SageMC. I am beginning to think I do not have the proper decoder on my computer to play DVD"s through Sage. What's a good one to select? Until I can get Sage to see the DVD TS files it will not project them into the MY Video page. Local drive, not networked, public user area. They show up just fine in proper DVD format (TS file, ect) when I select Play Other File in SageMC, but will not play the files. The attached file shows the selections I currently have available. I have tried them all.

Have you set up your video import directories? If you can’t browse your DVD collection then it sounds like your import directories have not been declared. When you’re in the My Videos section of SageMC press ESC on keyboard to get to the options and then go to manage your import folders to make sure you’ve properly told Sage where your content is.

Thanks wrems,
Yes I have done that probably 50 times in the last year. Does not make any difference what I do, they will not show up. Life is good in West Cobb............

East Cobb's not too bad either!
That seems strange. The decoders won’t have any effect on whether or not you can browse your media… Do you have any mkv’s, avi’s or other video files that you’ve placed in these import directories? Do they show up??? |

What is your exact path of your video import directories? I think I’ve had some issues with video files not populating too. If I recall it was because I had them buried too deep in directories of sub-directories. Try moving a few up to a new folder and add that as an import directory. Something like: D:\Video\Star Wars. Keep the paths shallow…

Any luck getting your library to display your videos?
