Sharing the same sage interface xml file

Hi all

Is it a reasonable thing to share the sage interface XML file between my server and 3 HD200 units, or will something bad happen (file permissions, explosions, plague of locusts...)

thanks
Eric

As in the STV you load in settings (ie SageTV3-xx.xml or SageMCxxx-xx.xml)? There is no problem sharing them. I do this with 2 extenders and have never ran into a problem

Yeah, that thing.
I am doing it for a few reasons:
1) i can't seem to get comskip to install on the original one for the extender
2) i want all the extenders to behave exactly the same and not have to make changes in many different places.

So it is officially not a problem?

well... they will still each have their own property file and can therefore be setup to behave differently. So even if they share the same xml file they could still be different

who knows about officially... you'd have to open a ticket with Sage to get official word. I do know that I do not have any issue with using the same STV file on multiple extenders. In normal use, the STV file is NEVER written to (even when importing an STVi it creates a new STV file (number appended) so I can't see how you would have permissions issues.

If you're really concerned you could make one stv the way you want it, copy it, then load that on the second/third/etc extender/ui

I actually tried just that, and for some reason, it didn't work. I guess i have more playing to do.
