Moving to New System

Just built a new system and trying to get the recordings to show, and they aren't. I followed the directions at http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...599#post265599 with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. I even went so far as to copy the whole SageTV directory and still no luck. The old system is still up and running and they all show up.....

Posting more details on your setup might help.

If it is a Vista or Window7 build then you could be having issues with the VirtualStore. "C:\Users\userid\AppData\Local\VirtualStore"

Microsoft does not like you to copy stuff to the Program files directory so it put them here.

I go into the folder properties right away and give all users full rights to the SageTV directory which will keep this from happening.

This is the FAQ you should be reading for moving to a new system (as opposed to moving files around on an existing system).

The new AND old system records to C:\TV. Doesn't touch program files area. Old machine was XP, new is Vista. It can write new shows to the right directory, just not seeing the old ones.

Tried that thread too, no luck with that either. In fact, the new install doesn't seem to even make a sage.properties. I'm wondering if it just doesn't use it anymore? Or if it's maybe kept somewhere else (other poster said something about appdata directory, so I'll check there).

Ok, using info from BOTH posts, I got it fixed. I needed to replace the wiz.bin in the virtual store, and same for editing the properties file! Thanks to both posters, I'm fixed now!
