No Sound
I've got SageTV almost working now.
The only problem is there is no sound. WinTV2000 has sound fine, but SageTV has nowt. If I record something in Sage and then play it back in Media Player, there's still no sound, so it looks like it's the 'input' rather than the 'output' that's the problem. One thing I noticed that was odd was that on Detailed Setup -> Multimedia -> Video Capture Settings (advanced) -> Audio Properties, the 'Encoding Mode' list is greyed out! In WinTV2k (what I think is) the equivalent setting is set to 'MPEG 1'. Any idea why it's greyed out - is that the problem, or is it something else Help ![]() |

Are you NTSC or PAL? and card do you have?.
(One thing I noticed that was odd was that on Detailed Setup -> Multimedia -> Video Capture Settings (advanced) -> Audio Properties, the 'Encoding Mode' list is greyed out!) If I re-call rigth it will be when the encoder is in use. Last edited by SHS; 05-09-2003 at 07:28 AM. |

What input are you using? (RF, composite, s-video)

Also, I saw a note in the beta forum about a 'fix' for this in 1.32, so I'm now running 1.33 - same problem |

Ah, I think I've fixed this now.
I changed the audio decoder to MPEG Audio Decoder instead of Default AND RESTARTED SAGETV and it worked fine. Originally, I hadn't noticed the bit in the manual about needing to restart SageTV after making these changes, so I'd changed it and there was no improvement, but restarting SageTV after the change seems to have fixed it. Great. (Also it may not have been working in 1.28, because I tried a lot more then, but then when I tried 1.33 and it still didn't work, I didn't try as much, so the fix in 1.32 may have helped) |
