Can't see Hauppauge 2250 digital tuners

I have two of these in my Win 7 box. Both work fine in MCE, and I have 4 digital and 4 analog tuners which show up when I scan for tuners in MCE. However, when I add tuners in Sage, I only have 4 analog tuners. I've tried it several times...does anyone have any ideas?

In SageTV, it reports them as 4 analog tuners. You set the second 2 as analog digital tuners.

I think that is the way Hauppauge reports them thru the driver, but I'm not 100% sure. There are may threads about it. Maybe try a search for 2250?

Hmmmm

Problem is, I can't see any of my clear QAM channels on any of them...I'll do some more searching...It seems like if the system reports them as "Analog" they will never pick up QAM...

I'm having the same issue with my 2250...
I can't figure it out... I have even tried to remove the card, start/reboot, then reinstall the card.. removed Drivers, reinstall drivers...Same issue..

At one time i got it to show the QAM channels, but when I tried to remap..
It was like they were never there...

Open a bug report, and send them your log file in the Sagetv folder..
Currently I think I am the only one that has a ticket for this tuner..

Hmmm

That's too bad...I'd like to switch to Sage, but obviously I'm not going to do it if I can't get those QAM channels...I'll go the bug route and see what happens. Thanks!

I already switched... I had BeyondTV, and yes everything worked..
But do to the lack of upgrades, support, etc. I decided that SageTV offered all those.. And I don't mind being part of a beta... So I bought it..

With one 2250 or more you should have Happauge WinTV-7164 Analog Capture and Happauge WinTV-7164 Analog Capture #2 for each card or if you have more then one cards you have more #number.
Chosse one of the Happauge WinTV-7164 Analog Capture in the next page for QAM and ATSC you need pick "Digial TV Tuner" as Source input.
After you set up QAM and it fail to fine any scan channel make sure you reboot and try rescan on QAM and after reboot in SageTV check the Source Details under Broadcast Standard should say QAM NET.
Make sure MCE is not running in background.
Also make sure you running the later drivers.
Here a link to lates beta drivers.

Thanks
I tried this.. Everytime I do it I get different results..
(just an example of 1 channel)
Sometimes I get WESH (2) alone
other times I get WESH 2 & 2.2 (but 2.1 is clear QAM)
Other times I get WESH 2 & 1031..
And now I got WESH 2, 2.2, 81-2-2, & 1020 (4 channels)

I have tried this multiple times..
Each time I get channel numbers that don't match, etc...
Even local channels don't match the number with channel..
Example: Channel 2 plays channel 6 (and there is no remapping)..

I don't know what to do next...

2250s still not working

I've tried everything I have read here and still can't pick up any clear channel QAM channels. At this point, I'm tired of screwing around with it...this just shouldn't be that difficult when two other apps (MCE and BeyondTV) see my digital tuners. And why can't Sage properly identify the tuners to begin with? Someone above said Sage adds all the tuners but calls them #1, #2, #3, etc. Well, how the heck am I supposed to know which one of those is digital when they all say analog?

I went back to BeyondTV, until they fix this issue...

Kinks

They definitely have some kinks to work out with this thing. They have managed to make the process of adding tuners much more difficult than anything I have worked with before, and that's just not good design. If the system sees 4 or 8 tuners, you should simply be able to add ALL of them and pick a cable lineup and be done with it. This nonsense about adding each tuner individually just makes things more complicated.

I finally managed to be able to "see" QAM channels, but as with you, there are all kinds of weird things going on once I add another tuner (like some QAM channels just plain disappearing, other channels mapped wrong although there has been no remapping).

It's back to MediaCenter for me...the thing just plain works. And it's free.

I wouldn't give up Sagetv totally yet.. I have already bought it, cause I know that when they finally get things fixed, it will be good program..
I personally like the plugins.. And again, I'm sure there will be a lot more plugins, after this is all worked out...

BeyondTV works great.. Just that it hasn't had any updates in over a year.
Now if BeyondTV, would start adding new stuff.. Then I would stick with them..

Now that SageTV has put out this beta, maybe BeyondTV will do some updating...

Only time will tell..

It not Free and it dosen't alway work rigth and no where near as customable as SageTV beside MCE has no Client or Extender support there for MCE is a joke.
Xbox 360 dosen't count it a Gaming Console Box and cost $$$ way to much to be use as a Media Extender.

I don't what tell you when come to this part I add another tuner (like some QAM channels just plain disappearing, other channels mapped wrong although there has been no remapping).

My HVR2250 works just fine for QAM tuning. I've been using it for more than a year. It is a bit odd to setup in that Sage has it listed under the Analog tuners, but once you get past that very odd first part, it works flawlessly. You then just do a scan and then remap the channels (Sage will show that the channels they are on are like 114-2 and you just need to state that it is 8-1 as the logicial channels so that the Guide shows the right shows).
