Capture message

Hi All -- I keep getting this message

{ There was a capture Error in Playback. Details:
ERROR (-3,0x80070020): There was a problem
Accessing the file system for capture.}

I have loaded all the new drivers. I have 2 Win TV HVR-2250 TV Tuners When I was using Media Center I was not getting this message. Is this a setting that I have entered incorrectly?

Also I am not getting a good tv guild is there a better place to get a guild?

Ken

That error probably means the recording directory doesn't exist or SageTV doesn't have permission to access that directory. Where to look for the problem depends on where you are seeing the error (extender, server PC, or client PC). The most common cause is the SageTV Service running under the LocalSystem user and your recording/import directories are setup on network shares. The Windows builtin LocalSystem user account doesn't have permission to access network shares. So if that's the case, you'll have to use the SageTV Service Control app to change the service to log in as an existing user that does have access to the network shares.

In addition to what the previous poster mentioned, I recently ran into this issue when trying to us the same network share as Windows Media Center was using to store recordings (running on a different system than SageTv) even though everybody had permissions to do everything (well, something like that ) I ended up creating a different shared folder for SageTV recordings and haven't had the problem since.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I am having this same problem. I am not familiar with the SageTV Service Control app. Where is it and how do I use it? I get this error when a new recording starts I say ok then I get a "no signal" message. If I change the channel via the guide and then come back to it it works fine.

I had this just last night - if you are running XP and your network cable gets unplugged(mine's loose) Windows will refuse to allow even local UNC paths sometimes.
