Don't know if this is the right forum for this - but I thought I'd post it here anyway since I'm using Sage V7.
I just got an NT330i client with Win7 and Sage7 up and running Specs: Intel Atom Dual core 1.6GhZ, 1 GB RAM, wired network, HDMI (audio as well). It runs online content very well. Runs sage recorded shows off the server very well via VLC player. Only while using sage client, there is a severe and annoying A/V lag. The video is clear and not choppy or stuck - pretty smooth flowing, just the VIDEO lags by many SECONDS.....this interval does not show up for the first few seconds of the recordings- but starts early on and persists and progressively worsens......I tried to delay the audio, but that is not working well. I also used the different audio/video decoders as well....but similar problems. Any suggestions or insight into what is happening? How is it that VLC media player is playing this off the network perfectly fine and Sage is struggling with it? Anything to do with Java, etc etc? System resoruce utilizations are as expected - LAN is about 10% and up, CPU is about 25% and up but not more than 40 or so, RAM is 80% and up with 140MB or so for temp data and only 20MB or so free.....I'm waiting on a stick of 2GB ram - but dont really know if this is the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. Like I said earlier - VLC playing and entire episode of the recording flawlessly while SageTV struggles is what is very irritating. Only 1080 HD videos have this problem lower res do not. Thanks.

I had this same problem after upgrading to Sage 7...
Fixed it by power cycling HD PVR....

Thanks for the response! I knew there weren't many who preferred a Nettop over the HD extenders so response on this would be slow
![]() I am currently running a few tests and keeping tabs on this issue. Here is what I have so far all HD shows - Live shows - ABC and Fox - can watch on the NT330i if I skip back a little bit after I start playing (rewind a a couple of seconds and play again). From this point on - the viewing is flawless. Recorded shows - ABC and Fox - The second recorded show, if a show is fairly recently recorded in the day (a couple of hours interval or so) can be watched flawlessly. The first show stutters and the rewind etc does not fix the problem. So thinking back to what I have running on the sage server - I have the comskip plugin and the auto-compress media functions (to HD .avi) turned on. My current conclusion is that that the client is struggling to play those files while they are being worked on. Earlier I used to watch on the server itself - and I believe Sage 6 had some sort of 'timed' conversion feature which I still have not found on Sage 7. So both these put together, it looks like the problem is the files currently in processing mode on the server itself. So far so good! I found this out just ahead of the World cup soccer game on Sunday and watched a flawless recording of it later in the night too (no compression or comskip for this manual recording). I'll post back any specific comments for people interested in running an NT330i client over an HD200 etc once I have it up and running the way I want. I like it so far and for those interested in this device I've attached a picture of the way it mounts behind the TV unobtrusively!
