15 day trial message on STX-HD100 only

I have two keys for SageTV servers
one I use for analog and one for HD
Can never remember which key is used where
But both seem to work fine on server
I just changed computer on HD server and put in key I thought was correct
Everything is ok except on STX-HD100 keep telling me
TRIAL
15 days
when connected to my new install.
But on the server itself, no message.
I even added an placeshifter key
still get message
I forgot how to change keys on media server.
Help!

You need to use the 'Register SageTV Media Extender or Placeshifter License' program in the start menu. after doing so, I think you have to shutdown and restart the server (and the extender)

I did both server;
"C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\SageTV.exe" REGISTER

Then shutdown both servers and disconnected power.

Same with STX-HD100

Then restarted everything.

Now it seems ok.

The STX-HD100 should not need a placeshifter key.

Anyhow. It works.

I seem to remember doing this before.
Doing exactly the same routine.

Actually, the STX-HD100 DOES require an extender/placeshifter key. This is the case for the HD100, MediaMVP, AND Placeshifter. The HD200 has a built-in key, so one is not required for them.

Interesting.
I guess when I purchased it it came with key.
That was the FIRST thing I did after I saw message on ONLY the HD100.
Like it had to check with SageTV to verify it was valid?
Tried serveral reboots of everything I could think of.
But it is working now.

I'm not sure what OS you're running but on WHS it comes with one placeshifter key. Any other OS or additional HD100's would require the input of a seperately purchased key.

Not WHS
just plain XP home
Just went away.
I do remember same problem with last new install.

Was not sure then but problem went away after I tried several things.
1.
Not sure which key for media center, tried both and if other one is on I think if same key it says already in use.
This did not.
2.
I always install a placeshifter key as well.

Not sure but I reinstalled key in both media center and placeshifter key as well. It is working now.

The Placeshifter key is the same key that extenders use (MediaMVP and HD100). They are interchangeable.
