Installed lastest beta firmware now have brick

I installed the latest beta firmware on the HD200... I left the room and came back to a black sreen, I waited 20-30 more minutes just to make sure it wasnt still going.

now all I get is the red power button.

Is there a way to debrick it. I was looking at the usb recovery instructions but everything I say seemed to imply that you could at least get the first menu up.


Any solution?

Did you look at Option 2 in the FAQ-recovery or the HD200 manual?

Option 2: Recovery Procedure via Server PC
Download the following file to the SageTV folder on your server. Place the file in the same directory where sagetv.exe is located.
http://download.sage.tv/firmware/stp200.bin
Make sure the SageTV software is running on your server and is configured to be able to talk to extender clients, as mentioned above.
Turn off the HD200 by pulling the plug.
Press and hold down the Back button on the remote while plugging it back in.
Continue pressing both the Back button on the remote until the Link and Data lights start blinking. Once the lights start blinking, you can let go of the Back button.
The lights on the front will continue blinking during the update procedure.
The unit will reboot itself automatically when done with this update and should then be running.
This process could take a while, so do not turn the unit off while it is updating.


If the extender still does not respond after performing the recovery procedure, contact SageTV technical support.

The last line is very important to follow.

I figured if usb didnt work that would be harder. But trying it now.

Holing the back button did give me some progress as now I have a red and green light.. I think the red flashed a few times before goign back out. green is flashing from time to time now but nothing with red. I will leave it fora while and see what happens.

should this write anything to the server log

thanks.. that worked like a champ.. for anyone doing this in the future you should see an entry in the log mentioning the TFTP process that copies over the bin file
