Is there a pluggin for a using Hulu from within SageTV and not as a separate program?
Using SageTV from a remote based system (I'm using my Sony LCD TV remote to control SageTV, no mouse) Hulu as you know opens a 'desktop application', which I can NOT control. I was excited to read Hulu support as a feature, but now seems, not so, as it's still an application for those with a mouse only and is not within SageTV itself.

You can get Hulu, Netflix and a host of other online content through unofficially supported means. You'll need PlayOn and some of EvilPenguins masterpieces:
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...24&postcount=1 http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...59&postcount=1 The importer is very nice in conjunction with BMT to automagically import your Hulu queue items directly into your recording screen. You still need to manage your queues via a computer and load your queue but this solution works very slick and it all works fine through your remote, on extenders too. |

Alrighty then.
![]() Not as plug and play as comskip or closed captions, but definately a step above the old days of modifying individual files and what seemed like hours of configuration! I hope this turns into a single download file for one click install and simple configuration within the sagetV setup. (Ok, moreso than it already is! )Maybe it's my turn to get over the learning curve of Studio!

Oh no....Playon is a pay app...... Is playon owned or managed by the guys at Hulu or Netflix or just a web company making a buck on some code they wrote to access those apps? If the latter, surtainly someone will have or develope code to strip the info from the Hulu website and then someone here will incorporate it into a pluggin with one click install capabilities. I may have to wait for another alternative, as I want to keep this simple and low cost. I wish I recall where I saw the hulu information where it was said to be a part of SageTV via plugg in. They failed to say you needed to by another program.

You won't find a clean way of watching Hulu without a Hulu backed sevice. they lock everything down. Even PlayOn simply runs the Hulu web-page in a hidden windows, captures and encodes the video.
FWIW, if you've got PC based clients, you can use Girder to control the Hulu Desktop app from a remote. Far better quality than the PlayOn method, but Girder also has a cost. LMRemoteKeyMap may be able to do it for free, but I've never used it myself.

PlayOn Premium
Hey guys,
Did I make a mistake? I just jumped on the soon to expire half off PlayOn offer. Spent $40 for the lifetime Premium version (I was already a Basic owner). The ONLY reason I did this was to watch Daily Show with Jon Stewart (whole episodes, not clips). Now I can't figure out how to get it? Before Hulu went subscription, I just had Daily Show episodes automatically added to my queue. Do I also have to pay Hulu? I thought the PlayOn Premium gave me access to the Daily Show. No? Someone please tell me I didn't screw this up. Thx. |

You can get to the Daily show though Sage's main menu under Online->Hulu->Comedy Central

Blame comedy central. They only allow full episodes of those programs to Hulu Plus users (because they charge Hulu too much for the rights to the shows).

Can you post the log right after you enter comedy central? See my sig for details on how to get it.

Well, well, well. I must be going crazy.
Today there are Clips, Full Episodes, and I forget what else. But they are there. Thanks. Where do I go to get my $40 back from PlayOn?

I assume you're using Hulu's web page, or the Hulu Desktop app, correct? My guess is Hulu does support their own web page...
