Hulu/playon - in the UK

Is evilpenguiins plugin of any use to anyone in the UK?

Can we access any of those sources?

Has anyone done so and what is their experience?

Michael

I played around with hulu a few months ago on a PC (No Sage involved) and its restricted to US people. I tried using a US proxy server to fool it but somehow it knew I wasn't over there Did some googling and tried some different approaches but never got it working

But hey! the US people can't get iPlayer for similar reasons....

I haven't tried the Sage plugin but I just checked & Hulu can be easily accessed from outside the US if you use a proper US proxy server. The picture quality isn't great even the so-called HD version is only 480p.

There is an unofficial plug-in. Just never had time to test it. So not sure how good it will be. Even if it did work not sure I would buy Playon.

I was hoping to test it this weekend, but if you want to try it for me then feel free

Anyone tried the iplayer plugin yet, would be great if we could get this working. I'm having a few problems with my extenders at the moment after months of trouble free use. So I'm not too keen to test anything which might break them further.

I think you'll find that its not actually a SageTV iPlayer plugin but more of a plugin for the Playon plugin.....seems like abit of a hassle to me and most probably will give you lots of hassles.

Yeah the iPlayer plugin is only for Playon itself.

Have tried it and works on the HD200 in stand alone mode only.

Like Jaminben said it seems like a lot of hassle and is very slow, not sure if I would buy Playon just for that.

Do like the look of some of the other PLAYON ONLY plugins like Redp@rn etc
