With sageTV 6.6.2 I had the same configurable options.. EVR, H.264 decoder=CoreAVC2.0 (with full hardware acceleration for VC1/AVC). With AC3filter for audio. In my client properties file, I had it set so directshow would handle playback of my media; which worked smooth as silk; just like it did in Windows Media Player, MPC, Zoomplayer, graphedit using the same filters and EVR.
All I did was directly upgrade to sageTV 7.0.18.. no hardware, driver, configuration changes, but now the same MKV based HD (x264) files when fast forwarding/rewinding I just see a snapshot of where I jumped to on the OSD timeline for several seconds before it starts to show the video. The audio continues to play in the background as soon as I jump to that part of the video. Also, it seems like complex video scenes start to garble up with huge pixelization; when it's really badly distorted, it has green pixelization included too. I still dont have any issues outside of sageTV; since nothing changed outside of sageTV. What's causing this? IIRC, I read somewhere that sageTV 7 now uses it's own player; and may not even use hardware acceleration for H.264 videos; even if I've still specified to use CoreAVC 2.0 as my H.264 video decoder. Is this the reason why sageTV 7 has a harder time playing back these type of media? I already submitted a bug report to sageTV support; but not sure its something they can fix right away; or if it isn't something they know how to fix. Im strongly considering doing a full image restore on my entire disk with a fully working sageTV 6.6.2; and leave it there. However, it would be nice to get some kind of closure to this. Does anyone have any good reasons why this is happening? ![]()

V7 has it's own splitter enabled for MKV's by default and some (me included) have had problems with it. Here is the info on how to disable it.

I had to do this to get everything back to normal once I upgraded also.

Thank you!
I wish I had asked this before; or seen the post mentioned above. I spent so much time redoing my display adapter, trying different video filters; and, worst fear of all, that it was only happening on my machine which was hardware related.
I too use Haali as well for my H.264 based files with various audio formats and subtitles. I'm guessing it will be a while before sageTV comes out with a splitter as good as haali since it too years for haali to get it just right.
