READ THIS IF YOU INSTALLED 1.20 API!!

New build coming up the pike.

If you installed the previous bad build please completely uninstall the SMM plugin UI and general smm-api before installing this upgrade or your problems will persist!!!

If you did not install the broken build you are fine just to update.

This should fix everyone's issue and I am sorry I released such a crappy build I usually do a good job of testing this things pretty good before releasing and I didn't live up to it on this one. The new build should fix everyone's failing api. If not please let me know.

Again sorry and thanks for the patience!!!

Hey Plucky!

Just FYI, I did the update yesterday and did NOT get a failed API message but it still didn't go very well. Here is what I'm seeing... not sure if it is something different or not so just letting you know...

Using MyMovies 3.18 pre release 2

Basic view - Covers are showing but with no titles. Some covers just have the text "true" but not too many.

Wall view - Covers are showing but with no titles in the title box. Some covers are blank but not too many... probably the same covers that show "true" in Basic view.

List view - No movies come up... showing "0/0" in the lower right corner.

Coverflow view - Same as List view.

Poster view - Empty boxes come up with the title underneath.

Sideways view - Same as List view.

I wanted to type that out before I installed the new version that I just noticed. Will try the new version then report back Thanks!!!

Still had the API failed

  1. I Uninstalled the APIs,
  2. stopped SageTV,
  3. deleted the 1.60 database,
  4. started SageTV,
  5. installed API, got to the 50K mark on db file size,
  6. blew out again, 1.20.1 API went into a failed state.
  7. Stopped SageTV,
  8. deleted 1.20 DB file
  9. turned on debugging
  10. Started Sage
  11. API started,
  12. MyMovies was disabled, enabled
  13. Now building DB, waiting...

Database takes no longer than 5 minutes max!! If you are seeing difference send me your log (make sure and go into the configuration settings of the smm-api and turn logging on to trace and rester to get a good log)

Maybe on your box, my anemic AMD WHS box (even though it does have 4gb of memory) takes a bit longer, 9 minutes to be exact, but hey, it finished and all data is there, the wall is functioning, yay!

Thanks!

I was seeing the same thing with the building database message. I let it go for around 30 minutes and nothing seemed to be happening so I ctrl-alt-delete and killed Sage. I let it go more than 5 minutes because I have 2000+ movies and figured it might take a little longer but 30 minutes made it seem like it was locked up Restarted Sage and the MyMovies icon in the top was there but figured I'd give it a shot... All the different views came up However, I did notice right away that when trying to sort by either collection number or date added the message in the top bar indicated 0 movies were in the sort. I'll let the database finish building (icon going away in the top) or try to rebuild the database and report back. I'm sure killing it in the middle of "something" wasn't good.

Well, the "rebuild database" option is gone. Did you take it out or did mine just disappear? LOL

Seeing the same thing for collection number and date added sorts, all others work.

It's been moved to the MyMovies Plugin config screen

Hey Plucky, my Sage MyMovies icon has been being displayed for over 1.5 hours and the database rebuild option in the configuration area has been reading "In process" as well. I'm getting ready to head out for an hour or so and I'm thinking if it isn't done when I get back, something must be "stuck". What is your suggestion for me to fix this and letting it try to build the database again? Thanks!

When I had this hang happen I noted that the API had switched to disabled mode. You can also check your logs for activity or look at the timestamp / size of the DB to see if it is changing.

Not disabled but my database file timestamp is from 3 hours ago and is around 23meg in size and not changing.

I enabled trace logging and have a couple different logs. At 3:59 I have a SageMyMovies.log.1 file that is about 15meg in size At 4:01 I have a log SageMyMOvies.log file that is much smaller.

Excellent! Glad you got the sorting thing figured out

The other problem I was having I mentioned above where I have the Sage MyMovies icon in the top bar and it is not going away... and in the configuration area for rebuilding the database it always reads "In process" so I was just wondering if I should delete the database and have it try building it again or if you recommend doing something different?

Just now loading the new Sage beta (20) and will see what happens. Thanks!

Heck I am still running build 17 of sage that shouldn't matter. It could also be a scaling issues. Is the icon on the main menu as well? I noticed sometimes the plugin screen doesn't update for some reason. You could try stopping the service and deleting the datafile and see what happens on reload.
