Hauppauge IR Blaster Control Issue After Awaking From Standby

Set Up:
SageTV v7.21
Windows 7 64Bit
Using the standard UI
Hauppauge HVR-1600 capture card w/ blaster
Blaster and TV Card w/Latest Hauppauge Drivers
Sapphire HD5550 Passive Cooled Video Card
Athlon II 2.9Ghz
4GB RAM
Asus MB
Comcast Motorola STB
Comskip
Durmon2

Issues:
The IR Blaster works fine when the system is up and running. When SageTV and the computer are put in standby the IR Blaster may or maynot operate after it awakes. Shows are missed or partially missed.

Observations:
(1) The blaster will send "0" as the first digit and then stop which puts the STB in the On Demand mode. Three digits are necessary to complete the channel change. I allow 10min. for the computer to start prior to recording a show.

(2) The channel change is sometimes completed ~20min later.

(3) After I reboot the computer the IR Blaster works fine again.

When using Hauppauge IR Blaster configuration tool the channel changes work without issue.

Is this an issue with SageTV beta or is it Windows 7 corrupting the IR Blaster service or ???

Any and all ideas are welcome.

Reply from SageTV:

"There's a setting you can make in SageTV which will cause the SageTV process to restart itself when coming out of standby to workaround weird driver issues like this. Just set this in your Sage.properties file while SageTV is not running:

restart_after_standby_resume=true

Then it should solve the issue."

Thanks to SageTV for the fast and effective reply!
