Web GUI Problems

When in the web GUI on the Browse tab, the left column lists far more possible views than will fit vertically. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any scroll bar to scroll down. Help?

What's you screen resolution? I'll try to figure out a solution for this, but for now, when the page is focussed, you can use the up/down arrows to move the screen up or down (at least you can in firefox), so that might be a temp work around.

I noticed this myself just yesterday. My screen is 1360x768. I had to zoom out (Firefox) in order to see it. The up/down arrows don't work because the left pane doesn't seem to correspond to scroll bars. Even if the right pane has a scroll bar, the left pane won't scroll with it. What seems to happen is that the column stops after the end of "views" and it doesn't know that it has gone beyond the bottom of the browser window.

As you can see in the screenshot, which is zoomed in a ton and shows the entire webpage, I've scrolled all the way down on the right pane, but the left pane doesn't budge, even though almost nothing is visible.

Wow... are you "zoomed in" in that screenshot... the bmt fonts look unproportionally large compared to the browser window fonts. Admittingly, I don't do much testing outside my screen resolution (1900x1080), but I haven't seen an issue where things looked that "zoomed".

LOL! Sorry, stuckless... I zoomed in that far intentionally, just to show you how the scrolling is "broken" for the left pane.

Zooming in and out are the only ways I can get this to work. I tried to modify the views by editing vfs.xml, but that didn't turn out all that well. I thought I'd be able to just add visible="false" to the views I don't want (I don't use Sage for pictures or music so those were the first to go), but it didn't seem to take. I'm guessing at least part of my problem is that I have to restart Sage for the change to take effect. Could that be it?

Yeah, you'll have to restart sagetv, or use the web ui, Configuration -> Refresh Configurations -> Refresh VFS. Setting visible=false should the the trick, but, it will also get overwritten with each bmt/phoenix install.

I had the same problem using Chrome on my laptop: 1280x800. I just turned off the option
"Enable Advanced VFS Views" in the Phoenix settings and I could see everything I needed.

I tried the Refresh VFS option but it didn't reload the xml file. I assume I don't need to modify the dtd file.

I'll check to see how it's working. For sure, you should disable the "advanced views" since those are really there for my testing, and possible new features, etc, and they are not much value to an end user (yet).

Also, keep in mind that if you directly edit the vfs.xml, then it will get overwritten with each new plugin update.
