If we are running the beta how should the full release be installed, just over it?

Can we get a list of changed things since RC3?

Just install V2 over the RC. Here's some of updates:
SageTV V2.0.19 Core Modifications 1. Running the EXE with a "-event eventCode" command line parameter will send a windows message to the corresponding EXE triggering the corresponding event. (This can be used to link the colored buttons on the StreamZap remote to SageCommands) 2. Added property "aggressive_negative_profiling" which defaults to false. If enabled, Intelligent Recording will try harder to understand what you don't like. 3. Added property "close_video_on_pvr350osd_reset" which defaults to false. If enabled, it'll also close the video when trying to auto-reset the OSD. 4. MediaFile playback of recording files now waits the live delay time before starting to check for data in the file. 5. Blocking sockets are used by default now in the MediaServer 6. Playback of ripped DVDs works again STV Modifications 1. Watched rectangle in OSD draws itself correctly now 2. Bug where it'd go to the MainMenu instead of the OSD after deleting the currently watched file is fixed

Email support@freytechnologies.com and we'll help you out. The keys for V1 should work with V2.

Great! I'll have to look into that. Is that new, or simply something I never paid attention to before??
Edit: I meant that I wondered if those messages are new, not whether the document or -event are new. - Andy

The new -event parameter will enable using the Hauppauge remote to send commands to SageTV w/o requiring SageTV to have focus, but on my _slow_ system, there is quite a delay between pressing a button & seeing a response. Maybe it would work better on faster systems. Oh well... it was worth a shot.

Could someone post an example of how to use the new -event parameter. I looked at the link and it seems that you have to write some C code but I am unclear of how it fits into the overall process.

Isnt this basicly what most of us are already doing with Girder? using the send message plugin to control Sage. Karen, it sounds like you just pass a parameter to the sage executeable, like "sagetv.exe -event 7" that would invoke sage to PLAY etc.. etc... i dont have it installed but thats what i assume it does. -doh, you beat me 2 it! |

personally i like having girder do all the remote management because all my config is in one place. and i can just back up the GML file if needed. But i was wondering about performance between the various ways too. 1) just using a regular keyboard to control sage 2) using girder to call windows messages to control sage 3) calling the sagetv.exe to control sage any differences in speed? |
